How is the procedure done?
Before starting the treatment, a numbing cream is applied over affected areas for a duration of 45 minutes and then the patient’s blood is withdrawn. Then, it is centrifuged by double spin method to extract platelet rich plasma. Then, this plasma is loaded into insulin syringes. Final step involves injecting this PRP into the skin which is rich in platelets and growth factors with the help of dermapen (microneedling instrument).
The needles of dermapen are rolled over the skin creating micropores that help in percolation of plasma as well as simultaneously generating fresh collagen fibers.
