Molluscum

Molluscum Contagiosum is a viral infection that results in raised, round, umbilicated bumps over the skin surface. If these bumps are scratched or touched, then this viral infection spreads to the surrounding area of skin leading to formation of new bumps. It also spreads from person to person contact and also after contact with infected objects. They may be seen on any skin surface like face, trunk, limbs or genitals.

Molluscum extraction is a simple effective painless OPD procedure to get rid of this infection. This is done under local anesthesia using a molluscum extractor and radiofrequency ablative device. Time taken depends on the number of lesions. There are minimal chances of scarring and hyperpigmentation post removal. Possible side effects include pain or discomfort at the site for a few days.
