Chemical cauterization
Chemical cauterization is a method to destroy diseased parts of the body. It is helpful in removing undesired growths like skin tags, warts, and molluscum contagiosum. The method involves immersing a toothpick in a specific chemical agent and applying it over the lesion for a specific duration after sealing the surrounding area. There is a mild tingling and burning sensation during the procedure.
After the application of chemicals, there is scab formation within 5-6 days that will fall off within the next 7 days along with diseased tissue. Postprocedure, there are minimal chances of hyperpigmentation and scarring.
