    Alopecia Areata

Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease that causes reversible, non‐scarring hair loss.

The severity ranges from small patches of hair loss, which usually recover spontaneously, to complete alopecia over the scalp (known as alopecia totalis) or body with scalp (known as alopecia universalis) where the prognosis for hair regrowth is poor.
